Wycliffe Africa is all about Bible translation and literacy on the African continent.
Who We Are
We were begun to facilitate ownership of the Bible translation process by Africans and African churches. We are a small organisation of about 19 members at the early stages of our existence. We belong to a larger, worldwide body of Bible Translation organisations. Visit Wycliffe International's site...
Our Mission
Our mission is to glorify God by promoting and participating in a movement of the African church to make disciples of all nations through Bible translation. More about Bible translation...
Our Vision
Our vision is to have a Bible translation program in progress in every African language needing one by 2025. Visit a site about Vision 2025...
Where We Work
We have members in Ethiopia, Kenya, and Uganda, but expect to grow into other countries where there is no Bible Translation Organisation. Our headquarters is in Nairobi, Kenya, and much of the required training is in Nairobi. Visit other African Bible Translation Organisations...
What We Believe
We adhere to the following truths. More...
Our Role
We recruit and prepare workers for Bible translation and other supporting roles. We provide a structure for people to raise their finances, get training, start in a project, or take up a supporting role. We continue to provide expertise, encouragement, guidance about further training, and many other services to our members.
We Need You
We rely on the Biblical principle that the Church and its members should provide support for its missionaries through finances, prayer, and encouragement as they serve in Wycliffe Africa. The Church is a valuable partner to its missionaries.
